Live in Lowestoft? Up for a yarn group?

Dear knitter, crocheter, yarn spinner, crafter, etc.

I recently re-discovered that I can crochet – something I had forgotten about for 30 yrs!

Are there any knitting / crochet groups in Lowestoft?  If not, would you be interested in joining one …. perhaps meeting up every couple of weeks or so.

If one does not exist could we start one?   We could even create our own blog about it …  Would you also be up for yarn bombing?  Don’t know what that is or want to find out more?

Please contact me and let me your thoughts and views 🙂

If you do start a group would love to come along. It might get me knitting again , instead of TV. Christina.

      Hi Christina,

Lovely to hear from somebody who also likes working with yarn. Are you into any other crafts too? I have seen there is a cafe (Poppies or something) in Bevan Street – I haven’t talked to the owners or anything, but that might be a good venue for such a group (I must admit, I have never been inside either). Nobody else has contacted me about a group, but what do you think of that as a venue? ps – I used to do a lot of knitting whilst watching TV 🙂

I look forward to hearing from you

I know this is an old thread but I’d be up for a knitting/crochet group if one is started or has started. I am a good knitter and have just started learning crochet.

Hi Kelly, Since writing the original post, I have come across several groups that you may be interested in. I think there are several groups in and around Lowestoft that are not heard of … one way to find out about them is to join one of the groups I do know about. For example – the wool shop at the north end of town has a knitting and crochet group (one of my friends who is a quilter) went there and really enjoyed her first evening even though the thought was a tad daunting to start with. There are also knitting and crochet sessions at Craftmania (near the Lowestoft hospital) and I believe there is another group that is held in Kirkley (in Waterloo Road) in the tea rooms on the corner I think …

Afternoon ladies it’s a shame most groups are during the day as I work away from home could do with finding a Monday evening group, because I also see most other evening are taken up cath x x
